They did not realise that these difficulties which they had faced was due to their neglection of the Linga. Later a person named Sundharam who were also met with many hardships realised his mistake and took steps to build a small temple for the Linga. The Linga, Nandhi and Palipeetam was found inside the well. This person installed these idols and made a new Amman idol and installed the Amman beside the Linga.
This Linga was said to have worshipped by Gorakka Sidhdhar. Gorakka Sidhdhar stayed here and performed pooja and worshipped the Linga. Since Gorakka Sidhdhar stayed in this place the place was called as Gorakka Oor which was later transformed to Korattur. These informations were rendered by Mr. Sundharam who maintains the temple now.
